The First VideoSense Summer School on Multi-modal Data Analytics, called MediaSense 2012, took place in Dublin on 21-22 May 2012. 
It included the following lectures:

1. “The multiple faces of privacy and data protection. Problems and possibilities”
Speaker: Prof. Guido Van Steendam  (University of Leuven, Belgium)
2. “Integrated Context-aware Tools and Architecture for Delivering and Evaluation of Privacy-Preserving Video-Analytics”
Speaker: Prof. Atta Badii  (University of Reading, UK)
3. “TRECVid: Over a Decade of Benchmarking Content-Based Video”
Speaker: Prof. Alan Smeaton  (Dublin City University, Ireland)
4. “Face Recognition”
Speaker: Prof. Jean-Luc Dugelay  (EURECOM, France)
5. “Privacy protection of visual information”
Speaker: Prof. Ebrahimi Touradj  (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Switzerland)
6. “Tracking and Recognition of Body and Face Gestures”
Speaker: Dr. Ioannis Patras  (Queen Mary University London (QMUL), UK)
7. “Audio-driven multimedia content analysis”
Speaker: Dr. Slim Essid  (Télécom ParisTech, France)


Around 25 researchers attended the summer school, which was co-organised 3DLife project and included a poster session at the WIAMIS 2012, where VideoSense was presented.
